Alexandre-Balthazar-Laurent Grimod de la Reynière, a 19th century French aristocrat and epicure, wrote a series of culinary guidebooks that included gastronomic walking tours of Paris.
New York Times writer Tony Perrottet recently followed Grimod’s footsteps. Read about it here.

Nacional 27 is hosting a cocktail party on Wednesday, November 4 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. In addition to cocktails, guests will receive free tapas and have the opportunity to adopt an herb plant. Mixologist Adam Seger will authorize the adoption certificates and make sure new parents have all the information they need to care for their new plants.

Macy’s Culinary program needs volunteers TONIGHT!!
We just received a call from Macy’s Culinary Foundation (headed by Chef Tyler Florence). They need volunteers today to assist with the Meals-on-Wheels Gala today.

Cake decorating was my least favorite thing about being a pastry student. I liked baking bread and making classic desserts like Paris-Brest. I didn’t like rolling fondant and piping flowers.
Check out Cake Wrecks. You will laugh out loud.
And, inspired by these beautiful efforts, I may have another go at decorating.
