Summer Break Hours

Posted by chiclibrary on 2006/06/19

In an attempt to truly be your CHIC Strategy guide, I have added links on the right of this page to Chef Beckman's Blog, "a site for and by the students of baking, specifically the students of CHIC" and Chef McNabb's blog, a "blog about my life in pastry".

These professional weblogs are a fantastic way to stay abreast of the issues in your field. If you would like help setting up your own blog, feel free to stop by the library. There are many sites that will host your blog for free, and others that charge a small fee if you would like more options such as the ability to add photo albums, more design control over the look of your site, or more freedom to edit the html code. A couple of the easiest sites to use are

Blogger

Typepad

WordPress

Feel free to type 'blog free' (without those quotes) into Google and play around with the options that come up. If you do create a food related blog and would like me to link to it from the CHIC library blog, please let me know – see the About Us page.

As always, feel free to leave a comment below.  For some reason people have only been commenting on the one post about AIM - you can leave a comment at the end of ANY post, so share your thoughts.

Make sure to check out the new barbecue display in the Library. We even have titles that feature vegetable grilling ideas for all you vegetarians or side-dish lovers. All the books on barbecue, grilling, barbecue sauce, and marinades can be found in the TX840 section.
