Happy Halloween!

Posted by chiclibrary on 2007/10/31

graveyard01.gif

Colcannon is traditional Irish Halloween fare.  It is made with mashed potatoes and chopped kale or green cabbage.  There are many recipes for colcannon online, such as this one from Brenda Hyde for Old Fashioned Living.

According to Ireland Now,

Colcannon at Hallowe’en used to contain a plain gold ring, a sixpence, a thimble or button: finding the ring meant marriage within the year for the person who found it, the sixpence meant wealth, the thimble spinsterhood and the button bachelorhood.

Follow this link for more Halloween food traditions.

Starting Monday, October 29, you will use your student ID to pay for all printing and copying.

We have a great new Canon copier/printer that produces high-quality black & white and color prints. All printouts/copies will be .05 per sheet – color, too.  LRC staff will be ready and willing to help you navigate our new system.

So take your coins to Coinstar and get ready for the 29th. Adding value to your student ID card requires paper money.
