The charm, for me, of the annual release of Beaujolais Nouveau, is the idea that, all over the world, people are drinking the same wine at the same time.

Some critics warn against the hype, reminding us that this tradition is about clever marketing rather than excellent wine.

My response? Get over yourselves, critics! Lightly chilled, this is a happy, fruity drink to be shared in fun and friendship. À votre santé!

By now, you have probably heard an instructor say “no Wikipedia” when assigning a research paper. Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia written collaboratively by volunteers who may or may not be accurate.  For your academic work, you want better odds than that. 

While you don’t want to cite Wikipedia as a source for your project, you may find it useful as a tool in the research process.

Ce soir … Soirée d’Entre Amis

The 2007 edition of the CHIC literary journal Entre Amis debuts tonight at a reception and reading.   The soirée begins at 6:30 p.m. in Room 205 and will last an hour.

Contributors and volunteers will read pieces from the journal that include poems, essays, and short fiction.

Don’t miss this chance to enjoy the CHIC creative spirit expressed in writing, photography, and spoken word.
