Learn a new language with Rosetta Stone
Posted by chiclibrary on 2008/01/11
The LRC now offers Rosetta Stone.
Learn French or Spanish now!
This computerized language program is based on auditory, visual and written identification. Through vocabulary identification and reinforcement, grammatical points are progressively introduced through small sentences.
It is a slow-paced vocabulary based approach that uses reinforcement as a key tool and provides a nice variation from the traditional methods to learning foreign languages. You will not go through the painful process of learning endless lists of conjugations and grammatical rules. The vocabulary is put in context to help you master those more grammatical points and verbs almost despite yourself.
If interested, please contact Karine Bravais-Slyman to get registered: 312-873-2001 or kslyman@chicnet.org
Once setup, you can work independently whenever you have some free time. Karine will follow your progress, offer written assignments patterning to the different levels you are completing on the computer and give you tests and exams for assessment.
