Bocuse d’Or 2009
Posted by chiclibrary on 2009/01/28
The Culinary Olympics are underway in Lyon, France. At the request of Paul Bocuse, Chef Thomas Keller is the president of the American team and serves as the American judge.
From the New York Times:
“When Chef Bocuse calls you on the phone and says he’d like you to be president of the American team, you say, ‘Oui, chef,’ ” Mr. Keller said in an interview. “He’s the role model, the icon.”
(I, of course, am backing Norway … Norge! Norge! Norge!)

Eat like the President
Posted by chiclibrary on 2009/01/21
One of the highlights of the president’s very busy first day is the Inaugural Luncheon. President Obama took only a few bites of his first course before he had to mingle with luncheon guests. The New York Times quoted him saying to a waiter “Don’t let them take my soup.”
Follow these links to see the menu and recipes for the last three luncheons: 2001, 2005, and 2009.

Don’t be this guy

Return your library books.
There are no overdue fines, no drama … we just want them back.
Lost books will result in an academic hold on your student account and eventual billing for the cost of the items.
And seriously bad karma.
